Avatar makes iTune's top 10 Cartoons!

Postby Tiny » Tue Jun 02, 2009 3:07 am

I was on iTunes. On the homepage (if you haven't yet upgraded your iTunes), there's "iTune's Ten Best Animated Shows."

The order goes as follows:
1.Simpsons
2.South Park
3.Spongebob
4.Family Guy
5.Peanuts
6.Looney Tunes
7.Aqua Teen Hunger Force
8.AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER
9.Wallace and Gromit
10.Naruto

I honestly feel that this is amazing. Out of hundreds of animated shows, including hundreds of animes like Inuyasha and Fruits Baskets - really popular cartoons - Avatar came in 8th, behind either the most popular TV shows of this century or classics like Peanuts. Heck, Avatar came before NARUTO. I'm assuming that everyone in the English speaking world knows what Naruto is (even if they can't say it. I'm talking to you, mom). In addition, Avatar is generally viewed as a children's show (although we all know that it's too awesome to be a kid show), and to have it even considered by iTunes representatives is just awesome.

holy crapmuffins, we beat out Naruto?

That's awesome and for me totally unexpected. But wow, we're on the list with all those huge huge huge name shows, so hey, go Bryke and Avatar. Great find TA.

That isn't too hard to believe. Looney Tunes is amazing and iconic for the history of cartoon shorts. ATHF is meh in my opinion, but it practically created Adult Swim. Peanuts is also rather iconic, but I am surprised to see that so high.

Seeing ATLA on there really isn't that much of a surprise, but damn does it give me some pride to be a fan before I knew it was this popular.
(Duh we beat Naruto, ATLA>Narutox100)
(Also, Wallace and Gromit>Narutox50... maybe 75. Wallace and Gromit is damn good stuff. I am surprised to see it there, but I think it deserves it.)

Two miserable little secrets, Ah Ah.
A miserable little pile of secrets, Ah Ah Ah.

well, iTunes sucks anyways. you'd have to pay me to ever want to get it.

I... am unsurprised that we beat Naruto. the only impressive thing I have seen related to that is an awesome Tetris game.
to say that Avatar is awesome would be an understatement. after all, just venture onto the interwebs and search... if you dare.

Meh to iTunes. Buy the DVDs, get all the episode commentary and bonus features, rip the DVDs with DVD Shrink, and download and install VLC to watch the .iso file. Then from there it is just a matter of a file converter, like WinFF, to convert to .avi, or divx, or even mp4 for your iPod. The files will have more content, better quality, and be transferable to any media or to other people.

Over the weekend I used something called Magic DVD Ripper. It worked great and best of all was FREE!
