The APP (Academy for Psychological Problems)

Ok. I saw this on another forum, but it was dead. It sounds like fun! ...But it's dead. So, I'm bringing it here.

The APP (academy for psychological problems) is a boarding school for teenagers 13-18 (meaning your character has to be 13 to 18... not you personally) struggling with personality disorders, emotional trauma, etc. Their programs are designed to cure students of any problems they have, while also keeping up with academic standards. The also offer pool/sports/and other activities. But... can they really be cured?

(problems may involve major self doubt, over self confidence, depression, emotional trauma, etc.)

Problem: MAJOR Case of Paranoid Personality Disorder

Bio: Was normal until a year ago, when she was kidnapped. She was left to die in a wood, and wasn't found for a couple of days. Her dorm room number is room 246.

Personality: Singer, painter, jewelry maker. Although she can paint, she can NOT draw. For some reason, she can work with a brush better than pen or pencil. She also enjoys pottery, embroidery, swimming, and rock climbing. She can play the piano, but she doesn't much like it. Finally, she likes a good game of chess, (but she hasn't ever won).

Gender: female

Age: 17

Problem: bipolar disorder, insomnia, paranoid personality disorder, schizophrenia, and conduct disorder. but she never has more than one at a time, and sometimes has no apparent disorders at all.

Personality: it depends. sometimes she is depressed and anti-social, while other times she is friendly and cheerful.

Bio: was abused by both of her parents until she was taken away at 14. she was living with her aunt, who can no longer care for her.

Problem/Description:

-Sleep Terror Disorder
Sleep Terror Disorder is characterized by the ongoing, abrupt awakening from sleep, which usually is signaled with a scream. This awakening normally occurs during the first third of the sleep cycle. The person cannot be comforted by outside parties, and it must be allowed to run its course. They show signs of intense fear, such as rapid breathing, sweating, and a rapid heartbeat, and they later will have no memories of the incident.

-Claustrophobia
Claustrophobia is usually described as a fear of enclosed places. A more accurate description might be 'a fear of not having an easy escape route' because for anyone who experiences this phobia this is the predominating feature - you feel a need to be able to get out or get home, quickly.

Bio: Allen's father passed away when he was 7. He has lived with his mom ever since. A few months ago a burglar broke into his house. He came through Allen's window, and he was a light sleeper. He heard his window open and saw a man climb through it. At once he started screaming at the top of his lungs to wake everyone up. The burglar started choking him to death, and he barely managed to live thanks to his mother, whose bedroom was right across his room. And from that day on, he kept screaming in his sleep continuously. A week later, he was at APP.

Personality/Other: His body weak for a boy, he gets sick often, bleeds and bruises alot, etc. So to make people not worry about him, he plays various sports(Tennis, Basketball, Soccer and so on). He acts cold and cool but he cares about others more than himself.

Name: Elsa Roque

Gender: Female

Age: 13

Problem: She thinks anything and everything is out to kill her. hurt her. Harm her in some way. She is always shaking and doesn't say much. People say she looks like she is always crying. She loathes emotion.

Personality: Shy. Times ten. She can also be very sweet, though. She loves animals, they calm her. She is always wearing a skirt.

Bio: Elsa has been juggled by her relatives constantly, living with one for a month until they got sick of her and sent her to someone else. Each time she went to live with someone different, she was abused or hurt in some way. Her mother, a 16 year old, handed Elsa off to her grandmother and committed suicide. Elsa has never known any sort of father figure. After a few years though her relatives got sick of her and decided to send her to the APP.

ok. Your character is awesome. Let's start Role playing!

Lirra's parents waved goodbye. 'Why me?' Lirra thought, as she walked by several students. Lirra walked up to the school, her suitcase behind her and a small gym bag hanging from her shoulder. She went to the main office building. Right before she reached the door, she watched one student reached down to scratch an itch... her skin suddenly started to crawl. She could feel a mosquito bite on her wrist. Looking down, she saw nothing, but scratched anyway. Harder... harder... her wrist was hurting. But the itch... She stopped scratching long enough to open the door. After picking up her uniform and dorm room key, she headed towards her room.

Room 246? She went in, unpacked, and sat down. She looked around the room once more and... "SPIDER!" She jumped, grabbed the key to her room, and ran out, slamming the door. The spiders had been all around her! One moved out of the corner of her eye. another on the other side! She ran downstairs, and once she felt that she was a good distance away, she started walking. Out and around the courtyard.

Elsa walked into her dorm room, apparently her second uncle twice removed, had brought her things here already. She didn't need much. Walking to a bed she removed the blankets and lay flat on her back on the pillow. the quiet was nice. No care. No nothing.

A loud knock came on the door and she sat up with a small gasp, she didn't say anything. Someone opened it and a dark haired head popped into view, "Elsa?" Elsa pursed her lips. "Elsa, hon, the principal needs to go over some things with you before you start school tomorrow, privately." The person smiled, Elsa could feel her face instinctivly glowering and she nodded her head slowly, swinging her legs off the bed.

The person opened her mouth again, the smile seeming plastic, it wouldn't go away. Elsa wanted to rub it off. "My name is Ms. Shanheim, by the way." Ms. Shanheim's smile grew and she shut the door with a small 'click'.

Karra got out of the car and watched as her aunt drove away. she hadn't said a word, but Karra didn't really mind. her aunt had other things to think about, and she had done more for Karra than her parents ever had. she turned, looked at the school, took a deep breath and headed inside.

"Now Allen honey.. Y..You're sure you'd..you'd be okay..?" A young woman was clutching a pale boy by the shoulders. Her eyes were puffy and red, like she had been crying for a long time. "You could still stay with me.. W..We can move so that-.."

"Shut up." breaking her sentence. "You know you don't have the money."
She looked at him with pity and sorrow in her eyes. He shoved her off and slung his sports bag over his shoulder and stalked away from her to the main office. He could hear a faint sob and the sound of the car door closing. He got his keys from the secratary and opened the door to his room. It was filthy, but it wasn't impossible to clean. He swiped some dust off the single mattress with his sleeve, sat on it with a creak, and sighed, burying his face in his hands.

Karra walked out of the office and looked at the paper in her hands. "room 242" it said. she frowned at it as a familiar feeling bubbled up inside her. this happened when she didn't sleep, but it had only been three days. she forced the feeling down for the time being, knowing it would become a problem very soon.
she walked off and soon found her room. with a sigh she opened the door, and walked in. her bags were on her bed, and a wave of depression swept over her as she looked around the room. it was plain, dull, and not even remotely interesting. but what made her so depressed was that she could do nothing about it. she didn't have any posters, pictures, or anything else that was very personal, so the room would remain dull and boring.
she left the room, deciding that a walk would be far more interesting and less depressing.

Elsa walked out of the room and took an elevator down, the doors opened and she walked to the elevator, trying to shut herself off from all the noise. All the people. Not safe, not safe, not safe.. What was she supposed to do with herself?

The door to the principal's office descended on her, a line of other 'students' was trailing out of it. Elsa raised her eyebrows, Privately? What the..? She took a spot at the end of the line, someone came out of the door and the line moved forward. She went with it.

Elsa could feel the eyes, all the thoughts, looking at her, then glancing away to stare upon something else. It made her skin crawl. What were they thinking? Should she be on gaurd? The line moved again, and someone took a place behind her.

Lirra walked until she came to the main building. Looking in, she saw a long line for the principle's office. One person caught her eye. The girl looked nervous and was looking at everyone. Lirra began to get nervous. Why was the girl acting like that?

Elsa's breath increased, pulling her arms closer around her she tried to look like she wasn't there. Hugging herself to the wall the person behind her nudged her on the elbow and stuttered, "G-get a m-m-m-m-move o-on! Th-the Line m-m-m-m-m-moved!" Elsa squeaked, the person talked to her. What if it hit her? Pursing her lips, Elsa's eyes grew and she nodded curtly, teetering forward a few steps.

She was next in the line. Elsa tugged on her short white and grey plaid skirt, she didn't like not knowing what was going to happen to her. She looked around again, and her breath caught. She held it. Someone was looking at her. And she wasn't looking away. Elsa caught her gaze, shivering for no reason.

Karra walked by the office, and was glad she didn't have to stand in that line. one of the girls looked really nervous, but Karra just shrugged it off, reminding herself that this was a school for kids with problems. then the walls felt like they were closing in and she was being watched. she forced herself not to look around and kept walking. but the eyes followed her to the next hallway. she knew that they weren't real, and that just made it more difficult to bare. she needed to go outside, away from the eyes and the walls that were closing her in.
as soon as she stepped outside she felt better. she never felt trapped under the open sky, and she could forget her problems, for at least a few minutes. she spotted a bench, and went to it. it was shaded by the tree standing behind it, and was the perfect place to sit. she could still see everything that happened around her, and, hopefully, being outside would calm her inner turmoil.

The girl looked straight in Lirrra's eyes... and shivered. Lirra shivered in response. Then something sounded through all of the intercoms.

"Would all students please head to their councilor's classrooms. It is time for the first class meetings in order to make acquaintance with some of the peers that each student will be with this year. Please head to your councilor's classroom at this time."

Lirra turned and headed to the room for the meeting. When she got there, she saw that a couple of students were already there and were sitting on beanbags, chairs, stools, desks, and other seats. Lirra headed over and took a blue beanbag before it was stolen. Might as well get comfortable.

Allen heard the announcement and went out sort of hurriedly. The room felt like it was closing in. He strode across the hall and out the dormitory. Following the crowd of students he managed to get to his classroom in time. He chose a chair at the back of the classroom and waited for the councilor.

Karra reluctantly went inside after hearing the announcement. she went in at her own pace, not caring that she would probably be late or barely on time. they can just deal with it. she thought, angry and annoyed. but she was mainly annoyed.

"Welcome." The councilor twitched. "I'm councilor David. If you have any questions, ask me." He looked down at some papers in his hand. "I have your schedules, but before I give them out, lets do some introductions." he slowly went around the room. then it was my turn.

"My name is Lirra. I have a case of Paranoid Personality Disorder. I'm am sixteen. And... I like to... draw."

Elsa heard the announcement and gladly hurried to the room, they had already started. What the heck.. She thought, sitting in the back on the floor. She was glad she got to skip out on the trip to mr or ms. principal.

"H..How about you young man.. What's your name..?" Mr. David looked to Allen who scowled and looked back at him fiercely and didn't say anything.
"Come now, everyone has to say at least their names.." the councilar seemed slightly afraid of and disgusted at the children. Allen didn't even blink.
"Well now. We can't have a spoiled apple now can we?" the others started becoming shifty because of Allen. Mr. David scribbled on a piece of paper on his desk.
"You are to see the supervising councilar after lunch." then he turned to Elsa.
"What's your name dear?"
