The APP (Academy for Psychological Problems)

Postby kamena » Thu Sep 11, 2008 2:49 pm

Karra opened the door just as the councilor gave, what she guessed was a punishment or something, to a boy who was glaring openly at him. she slipped in and took the closest empty seat.

Elsa drew in her breath, not sure to disobey and follow the example the boy gave or to spit it out and get away from the people filled room.

She opened her mouth and barely whispered, just enough so she could hear herself, "Elsa Roque." The counselor frowned, he saw her lips move but he wasn't sure what she said, "Could you repeat that?" he asked.

Elsa whispered louder, "Elsa Roque. May I leave." She squeaked, the small amount of sound trailing out of her mouth accompanied by the squareness of the sound made her almost sound like a drone.

The counselor nodded then wrote something on his clipboard, "Not yet, Elsa. But please see Mr. Davis in room 62 this afternoon. You may leave when we're done." He gave a little half smile and Elsa bit her lip, crossing her arms and retreating under the hood of her sweatjacket.

The counselor turned to the room's newest arrival, Karra, and asked, "And you are?" He smiled in a brisk way.

Karra sighed and rolled her eyes, but replied. "Karra Parker. now can you leave me alone while I join attitude over there," she stuck her thump in Allen?s direction, ?in glaring at you until you shut up??
That came out before she even had a chance to think. but she couldn't take it back now, and didn't feel like trying anyway. So she sat and stared at the councilor defiantly. His obviously fake smile had vanished and he frowned at her.
"it looks like we have a smart mouth to deal with as well." he said. "see me when we're finished." and then he moved on.

"Everyday at 8:00, from here on, you will come in here. We will discuss our achievements and our problems." Our counselor said, smiling.

Finally, the stupid counselor shut up. He said that he wanted us to get to know each other for the next 30 minutes. Lirra sighed and looked around the room.

"I hate councilors." Karra muttered. she looked around the room, and sighed. she hadn't made a very good first impression. not that she really cared, it was just a passing thought. I hope this will be over soon.

There was an ant on the floor. Lirra saw it, and for a second, she was paralyzed.

"ANTS!!!!" Lirra yelled suddenly as she tried to wipe all of them off. They were everywhere! She could feel them on her skin... she fell back and hit the fire alarm, which caused the sprinklers to go off.

"WATER! WE'RE GOING TO DIE! WE'RE GOING TO DROWN!!!" yelled some random person who does not have a name, but does (apparently) have a fear of water.

The APP (Academy for Psychological Problems)

Postby admin » Sat Sep 27, 2008 2:35 pm

(If yu don't mind I would like to joi... here's my character.)
Name: Dion Olvo

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Problem: Intermittent Explosive Disorder - Episodes of aggressive outbursts resulting in either destruction of property or physical assaults on others. Typically, this problem results in legal problems as well, because the individual is often charged with assault, or a domestic violence charge. Typically, these individuals will not take responsibility for their loss of control, instead blaming the victim, other circumstances in their life, or some third party who may have told them something or said something that "caused" their uncontrolled anger. Lack of control is a central part of the problem, and inability to accept responsibility for the aggression helps to alleviate guilt. It also prevents the individual from making any changes

Schizophrenia - The schizophrenia has two symptoms where he has hallucinations of two different people where he sometimes takes on their personality. One personality is a five year old boy called Jack and the other a seventeen year old boy who aggresive and doesn't know right from wrong called Isaac. Hea also has random laughter, crying and other emotions

He als has random hallucinations such as rocks turing into crabs and talking food things like that

Personality: His personality appears normal but he does have two other personalities. He does have some very happy and sad times though.

Bio: He was diagnosed with these disorders when he was seven and started having dilusions and talking to himself. He also started hitting people when they talked to him saying they were mocking him.

Appearance: 5'7" with black hair and green eye's he wears jeans and normally doesn't wear shoes. He wears white shirts and a skinny black tie.

The APP (Academy for Psychological Problems)

Postby Marik » Sun Sep 28, 2008 5:08 am

Name: Marik

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Problem: Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). When Marik was about four years old, he began behaving strangely. Nothing too outstanding, but it grew more and more noticeable as he aged. Eventually, around the age of eleven, his odd behavior manifested itself in the form of DID. His parents then moved him from Cairo, where he had been born and raised, so that he could attend the Academy for Psychological Problems.

Personality: One of his personalities is what most people would consider and introvert. He is quiet, reserved and somewhat timid. He often stays away from other people and plays his violin in his room. His other personality is quite outgoing. He enjoys hanging out with several friends and is always attending the latest party; never drinking, though. Neither of his personalities partakes in alcohol, drugs, or tobacco in any form, and he is very proud of that fact.

Bio: Marik was born and raised in Cairo Egypt until his parents brought him to the APP, hoping that they would be able to cure him of his Dissociative Identity Disorder. So far, after five years, they have failed. Most of the time, he is very forthcoming about his home in Cairo, if one were to catch his outgoing self. If one were to question his more indrawn self, one might get a few words, brusque and clipped, and then be ignored.

Dorm Room: 313 (On the guy's level of the building)

Appearance: Marik is usually found wearing long pants and a sleeveless shirt and vest. The colors and styles vary, but most of them are basic and dark colored. His skin is slightly brown, due to his Egyptian heritage, and his violet eyes are framed by platinum blonde hair. Small tattoos, nothing more than lines really, curve from the bottom corners of both of his eyes to the center of his cheek bones.

Marik looked into the classroom as he strolled by. ?Ah, so young these days,? he muttered to himself. Incredibly glad that he would not be forced to attend these ridiculous ?counseling sessions? again this year, Marik continued on his way to his dorm room, room 313. Many people considered him quite loopy for actually choosing to live in the same building that they put all of the new kids, but he kind of liked it, most of the time, being able to help out all of the scared and confused kids made him feel much more useful than just another guy locked away in a loony-bin.

Marik opened the door to his room and flopped down on his bed. He lived here year round, but he had spent the summer with some friends at one of their houses. ?Ah, it?s good to be back home,? he said to the ceiling. He rolled over onto his stomach and opened his laptop computer. While checking his email and whatnot, Marik left the door to his room open so that anyone that wanted to could come in and talk to him. He was feeling quite friendly this morning. Move-in day was always one of his favorite days of the year, despite all of the teary good byes.

Karra sighed as the water drenched her clothes. she wasn't very fond of getting wet while fully clothed. the circumstances would have made her laugh, if it wasn't for the annoying sound of the alarm and the fact that she was soaked, she would have. at least it helped calm the anger burning inside her.

The APP (Academy for Psychological Problems)

Postby Marik » Sun Sep 28, 2008 8:26 pm

When the fire alarms started going off, Marik sighed and hauled himself off of his bed. The joys of living with new kids, he thought. Quickly stuffing his computer into its bag and slipping the strap over his shoulder, Marik walked out of his room and locked the door behind him.

In the hallway, most of the kids were calmly filing out of the building, but one kid, a younger boy, obviously was having issues with the loud noise of the alarm. Marik walked up and crouched down beside him.

"Hey, it's alright. Your gonna be fine," he said as quietly as he could and still be heard. He reached out and took hold of the boy's hand. "Come on, come with me. I'll help you get out, okay?" The boy looked up at him, tears streaking his cheeks, and nodded gravely. Marik helped the boy to his feet and then proceeded down the hallway, holding the boy's hand all the way.

Once the pair got outside, Marik looked around. There were a few kids that were sopping wet, they had obviously been in the room in which the alarm was pulled, and they all looked a little bit angry. The boy that Marik had rescued still clung to his hand, even though Marik had long since let go of him. The child was quite clearly terrified of loud noises. Marik kind of felt bad for him; being in a new place, with new people, and then an alarm going off, which scares you half to death. It had to be rough.

some of the teachers and councilors were going around, talking to the kids who were having trouble for one reason or another. Karra sighed again, trying to wring the water out of her clothes. the anger was gone, but that wouldn't last long. it never did.

Postby vani » Mon Sep 29, 2008 11:09 am

Lirra sort of stood in the room. Why leave? It was a false alarm, after all. She watched teachers and students run out into the halls, leaving her behind and alone. Soon the school was quiet, so she walked out of the room and out of the school building. Students were crowded in all sorts of little groups. None of them seemed to notice her as she walked by. She saw some of the kids from her councilling room, but they didn't look happy. Lirra walked to her dorm and locked herself inside. It is just the start of another long school year...

Marik finally managed to get the boy to let go of him and walked away from the building towards the cafeteria. He was hungry. He hadn't eaten diner last night and still had not had breakfast. His stomach gave a small gurgle to urge him to go faster.

On the way there, he looked around at all of the new members of the Academy. He remembered when he was first sent to live here.

A young boy with silver blonde hair climbed from the back of the small car, carrying a knapsack with his belongings in it. A woman whose eyes were the same shade of violet as the boy's stepped out of the front seat. She gave the boy a quick hug and then stepped back. She fished in her pocketbook and came up with a strip of paper about two inches wide and about ten inches long. She handed it to him and the boy looked down at it. Drawn on the paper were symbols. There was a guitar shaped instrument, under that there was a snake, then an oblong representation of a mouth. There was a small break and then more symbols. There was a goose, then a small vertical line, followed by a kneeling man. This was the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic spelling of "beautiful son."

The boy looked up at his mother, tears welling in his eyes. She knelt down in front of him and wiped one of them away. "Don't cry, my little Marik. I'll see you soon, but you must stay strong and remember how much I love you. Can you do that?" Young Marik gave a brave nod. "Good. Now then, I have to leave, but I will see you soon. Goodbye, my beautiful son." With that, the woman climbed into the car and Marik watched as it rolled off into the distance.

That was the last time that Marik had ever seen either of his parents. He shook his head violently to clear the ghosts of his past and found that he was just outside of the cafeteria. His stomach gave another protesting rumble and Marik walked inside the building, trying to forget his painful memories.

Karra headed to her room to change. she looked at the hoodie in her hands and muttered, "and this is my favorite one too." she wasn't mad, just disappointed. well, at least I got out of that talk with the councilor. she thought trying to cheer herself up a bit.
but it felt like all of her energy was drained. and while that meant her conduct disorder would stay under control, it also meant that depression would probably take hold soon.

The APP (Academy for Psychological Problems)

Postby admin » Mon Sep 29, 2008 8:50 pm

Dion looked at his watch. This false alarm had cost him twenty minutes of his time and he was annoyed. He was in the middle of a drawing when the spinklers made the paint run. His eye's shifted to the new kids, there little faces made him sigh. The large amout that were panicking because it was too loud or it frightened them. They should get used to it, this will happen a lot with the different problems the pupils had.

The walk to his room as farely short. He had been granted a room on the first floor as he had been nominated to help the new pupls. He locked the door as he locked the door and took out a new canvas. His art supplies were more sophisticated than the cruddy brushes in the classroom. He took a pencil out of the pencil pot. Each lead the same length. He didn't have OCD, he just liked them being the same length. He covered the smoke alarm and started lighting some inscence. He started sketching the flower pot that had been drawn twenty times before. His eye's concentrated on the strokes of the pencils.

Postby vani » Mon Sep 29, 2008 10:10 pm

Lirra hadn't gotten out her paints and was busy painting away at a piece of scenery she couldn't get out of her head. She was finishing it off with the words 'Out of the Shadows', when she misspelled shadow. It came out like: Shados.

"Why can't I spell anything right?!" Lirra wondered out loud. She looked over her shoulder and out of her window to see a girl walk by with a hoodie in her hands. Putting down her paintbrush and walking to the window, she got a closer look at the girl. Since the girl was wet, Lirra figured that the girl must have been in the same room as her when she hit the alarm.

"Oops..." Lirra muttered.

Lirra sat back, startled! The girl had looked right at her! "Well... there is only one thing left to do...." She muttered under her breath.

Lirra walked to the door, opened it, looked the girl in her eyes, and said, "Do you want to come in for a quick something to eat?"

Karra gave the girl an 'are you serious?' look. "umm, ok." she said unsure if she really should. she was still wet and it crossed her mind that this girl might not be stable. then she remembered that no one here was very stable, and somehow that thought comforted her.

The pencil sopped as Dion finished the last petal. He held the picture up and took it over to the closet. Opening the door Dion placed the picture on a pile of nearly identical pictures. He smirked.
The door shut behind him, he moved to face the door Darkness moved from the walls and tied im to the spot. He saw red eye's in the dark. Squeaks came from the door and bats flew out. They swirled round him and clawed at is skin. Dion screamed curling up in a ball.
