We're making a 180 degree turn here at AP. Instead of Uncle creating web pages with only a few images for each artist on AP, members will be able to upload their own work RIGHT TO THE SITE!

Yes you do have to make a new account, but once you do you are set for life! You can upload all your work to AP without having to worry about file size, bandwidth, or amount (for the most part) as you would with image shack or photobucket.

So when you want to show off all your work without people having to dig through pages of a thread for the image or having to continuous edit your post for work, just upload here instead and link to it!

We hope to solve Fanfiction soon so it will allow writers, fiction and poetry and the like, to upload their own work as well! Stay tuned for that.

 

Music!

That's right, AP has uploaded all available Avatar scores to the web! It includes a number of the songs already uploaded by Water-Bender, with a few songs that have been found recently by Serpent's Guard! It features an online playlist, downloads for every song in mp3 and mp4 format (for you iPod users out there), and the ability to download all tracks IN ONE CLICK!

We at AP also have one more trick up our sleeves: Welcome pages in foreign languages! In order to better serve our extremely large non-American/English speakers community (which makes up over 1/3 of our visitors and members), we are asking members who know a foreign language fluently to submit a welcome page in that language! So far we have people working on Dutch (Nederlands) and Spanish (Español). The Dutch page can be previewed here.

If you are able to translate a page into another language, visit this thread! There we have the English lines which need translating, and you can submit your work there too. We hope to be able to serve as much of the globe as possible!

Site Updates!: Fanart, Manipulations, and Fanfiction - 11/2

That's right, Uncle is actually doing work! In order to promote the resident artists and writers of Avatar Portal, we will be uploading the work of all of them TO THE SITE! We will feature select works of artists and writers as well as link to their work across the internet for people to admire. And when Uncle updates the site (every 1-2 weeks), a new artist/writer will be featured in our Headlines area (right side menu bar). This will allow hundreds of people a day a chance to view the work of one artist/writer so they can get their name known to the fandom!

The catch? (Oh yes there is always a catch, free life lesson here!) Artists, Manipulators, and Writers must post their work in one of three threads in order for us to put it on the site. Why? Because we do not want to take their work without permission. So how do you get your work featured on our site? Simple! Register on the Forum, then follow the guidelines and post in the thread below which applies to you:

Submit Your Artwork for the AP Site

ex: Hand-drawn art (may be colored digitally if you like)

Submit Your Manipulations for the AP Site

ex: Photoshop works, signature images, avatar images (no pun intended), music, etc.

Submit Your Fanfiction for the AP Site

ex. Fanfiction. Not really ambiguous here. We may at some point in time allow poetry and short stories, so stay tuned.

Nick Survey Now Offline, Plus New Podcast and the MIKE AND BRYAN INTERVIEW!!!!! - 10/20

Sorry folks, the Nick Survey is no longer online. Thank you all who made your voices and opinions heard! Now to submit our other list of requests, hopefully Nick will take them!

In other big news, FTW/Collin was able to put together a new Podcast! It features himself as host of course with Winnkey and myself contributing. It goes over the Survey, the Minsodes, other forum matters, and of course the future of Avatar! Be sure to check in for our first podcast since the Finale! To take a listen, click here! New Site Design! 10/9

Awesomely designed by what could be described as a God of photoshop Forum Admin Kumani, and then posted by yours truly. There are still some pages to be converted over, and they will be soon. Also, "Donate" is not yet available due to technical difficulties, Guest book too, but they will be soon once it's sorted out.

And yes, like a broken record, we still have a number of pages to do. Screenshots, Transcripts, Reviews, Four Nations, Characters, Fan art, Fan Fiction, Merchandise, and NYCC to name a few. Sorry folks, our time here is constricted. But worry not, they will be fixed soon! Hopefully before the next Avatar episodes (keep the Avatar faith!).

Well that's about all that needs to be said about that. I'll ask if our suggestions being made on the forum might be able to be sent to the Avatar crew. Cross your fingers.

Edit: And yes it is a tad long. Clocking in at aboue 20 minutes undistrurbed. But hey, it's FOR AVATAR! Make your voices heard, fandom!

And yes, anyone in the fandom can do this survey, or any other survey posted. They do however go to slightly different surveys since they were meant for different fansites. But no matter, get your voice HEARD!
